Mode Scheduler:
Take Control of Your Energy
The Mode Scheduler in the Fox ESS App allows you to make the most of peak and off-peak electricity periods. Set different operating modes for different times of the day to save on costs, maximise solar usage, and stay prepared for power outages — all automatically.
How It Works
With Mode Scheduler you can:
- Create time blocks throughout the day or week.
- Assign a work mode (e.g. Self-Use, Force Charge, Feed-In Priority) to each time block.
- Optimise your battery SoC by setting minimum and maximum charge levels for each block.
When the schedule runs, your inverter automatically switches modes so your battery behaves exactly as you’ve planned.

The Mode Scheduler comes with a variety of modes to give you optimal control.

Self Use
Prioritise using your solar energy first, before drawing from the grid. Energy is sent to your load first, then to battery charging, and any excess is exported to the grid.

Feed-In Priority
Maximise grid export by prioritising sending solar to the grid over charging the battery. Perfect for customers with high feed-in tariffs. Order of priority: Load → Grid Export → Battery.

Back-UP
Store energy specifically for emergencies. Backup Mode ensures your battery has enough power reserved to supply loads during load-shedding or grid outages.

Power Station
Smooth out fluctuations in solar production caused by clouds or shading. This mode uses the battery to keep your system’s output stable and reliable.

Force Charge
Charge your battery from the grid, regardless of other settings. Ideal for charging during off-peak tariffs or before a planned power outage.

Force Discharge
Empty stored energy into your loads or export to the grid — even when you normally wouldn’t. Useful for avoiding peak tariffs or reducing demand charges.

Peak Shaving
Use the battery to reduce grid demand spikes during peak periods.This helps lower demand charges and keep your electricity bill predictable.
